The director of the Housing Authority of New Orleans, Evette Hester, has resigned after five years on the job, after the agency came under heightened scrutiny in recent months for subpar property management and high staff turnover.
At the agency’s monthly board meeting on Tuesday, Hester announced her resignation effective Nov. 4, without providing a reason.
