HPD hopes to expand community security camera share program to enhance safety and improve crime response

We’re learning more about the Huntsville Police Department’s security camera share program, which police say enhances community safety and reduces response times in life-threatening situations. However, they need your help to make it even more effective!

HPD said they currently have 49 residents and 12 businesses signed up for the program, but that number is slowly increasing.

Drew Gilbert, Guardian Network Operator for HPD, said, “Community policing is really important to us, so this is our way to invite the public to help us start to fight back against some crime in the area. This is an easy step people can take to register their cameras, and it helps us out a great deal.”…
