Independence man receives 25 years in prison for trafficking fentanyl and an illegal weapon

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Wiser Key, an Independence, Missouri man, was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

Key pleaded guilty in March to one count of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and one count of possessing an illegal weapon.

Key, 25, admitted to engaging in a drug transaction with an undercover officer. According to the press release, the undercover officer paid Key $8,500 in exchange for one thousand counterfeit oxycodone tablets that included fentanyl…
