JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Keep an umbrella close by Wednesday! Scattered showers are possible through the day, especially in the morning and afternoon, as the cold front passes overhead. Temperatures will also run on the cooler side and below average in the lower 80s in most locations.
This cold front will also help us out when it comes to the tropics. Tropical Storm Helene is forecast to become a hurricane by Wednesday as it emerges in the Gulf. The latest forecast track has Helene becoming a major hurricane prior to landfall Thursday near the Big Bend of Florida.
