Ribbon-cutting ceremony welcomes solar array in Frankfort

FRANKFORT — Proponents of a new 4.8 megawatt community solar project in Frankfort are hailing the facility, saying the new array is helping to bring New York state another step closer to reaching its renewable energy goals during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

The site, at 2305 Bleecker St., is a designated brownfield — an old industrial site that is now owned by Human Technologies of Utica. Catalyze, a developer and producer of renewable energy assets, entered into a lease for the property and is the owner and financier of the solar project. The panels were built by GreenSpark Solar while Our Generation, a solar and energy and storage development company, brought together the different resources for the project…
