El Salvador citizen sentenced in Connecticut for illegally reentering United States after being deported

HARTFORD, Conn. — A citizen of El Salvador who was previously deported from the United States was sentenced to prison in Hartford federal court on Wednesday for illegally reentering the country, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut.

Forty-three-year-old Fredy Adalberto Guardado Salgado, who also goes by “Fredy Guardado” and “Fredy Salgado,” was sentenced to 15 months in prison for illegally reentering the U.S. after being deported.

Court documents and statements made in court note that Guardado was deported from the U.S. to El Salvador after being convicted of a felony in December 2010 in Connecticut Superior Court. He was convicted of second-degree assault involving a stabbing, prosecutors said…
