Nonprofit urges community to house 60 dogs ahead of storm

ATLANTA — As Hurricane Helene approaches, 60 dogs housed at Fulton County’s old animal shelter are in need of emergency homes.

The old shelter, located at 860 Marietta Blvd., was built in the ’70s and has a history of flooding during large storms, according to a Facebook post by Fulton County Animal Services, whose shelter and field services operations are managed by Atlanta nonprofit LifeLine Animal Project.
