New commuter bus routes link McGregor, China Spring and Crawford with Waco

A Waco Transit rider may not get dropped off at SpaceX’s front gate in McGregor, but shopping for groceries at Brookshire Brothers or eating chicken-fried steak at the Coffee Shop Cafe has become only a bus trip away.

Waco Transit on Sept. 3 launched commuter routes serving McGregor, China Spring and Crawford, partnering with local transportation planners who aim to give rural residents better access to shopping, health care and employment opportunities in McLennan County’s larger communities.

The price is $3 one-way, and riders on the McGregor/Crawford leg have stops at the Crawford Coffee Shop, Brookshire Brothers, McGregor ISD administration building, the Harris Creek convenience store, and the Woodway/Hewitt H-E-B store…
