CARMEL, Ind. (WAVE) – Indiana Electric Cooperatives announced crews and equipment are heading down south to assist with recovery efforts as Hurricane Helene has been causing power outages for many residents.
An estimated 40 lineworkers from 12 of Indiana’s electric cooperatives were meeting at Clark County REMC on Thursday to travel to Cobb EMC near Marietta, Georgia. By Thursday morning, Helene upgraded to a Category 2 hurricane.

- Henry County REMC (New Castle)
- Jay County REMC (Portland)
- JCREMC (Franklin)

- Northeastern REMC (Columbia City)
- Orange County REMC (Orleans)
- RushShelby Energy (Manilla)
- South Central Indiana REMC (Martinsville)
- Tipmont (Linden)
