After nearly eight years serving the Fayetteville community from a shop at the corner of Bragg Boulevard and Santa Fe Drive, a beloved Puerto Rican bakery is moving to a new home.
My Heavenly Sweets is moving down the street to 5224 Bragg Blvd., a larger lot with about 50 parking spaces and an approximately 5,000-square-foot building. The move comes after the property owner sold the lot the bakery had been renting, forcing the bakery to search for a new space, owners, Jose and Lily Rodriguez, said last week.
“We were there for eight years renting, but the bakery was there for five and a half years,” Lily Rodriguez said in her native language, Spanish. “The reason why we moved is because in October of last year, they made an offer to the owners of that land and then they bought it. We were told we had to move.”…
