Jason Benetti is having the time of his life in his first season as Detroit Tigers play-by-play television broadcaster on Bally Sports Detroit.
Benetti jumped ship from the historically bad Chicago White Sox in the nick of time, and has been on the call as the Tigers have gone 29-11 since Aug. 10 to turn an 11-game playoff deficit into a 2½-game lead over the Minnesota Twins in the American League wild-card race entering the regular season’s final series at Comerica Park .
