As you are aware by now, Wilson Medical Center has recently undergone an inspection by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services on behalf of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The work of these agencies is vital in ensuring people have access to the best care possible, and as members of the Board of Trustees for Wilson Medical Center, we want to take a moment to address our community and express our unwavering confidence in the future of Wilson Medical Center.

First and foremost, we want to assure the people of Wilson County that Wilson Medical Center is, and remains, committed to providing safe, quality health care to everyone who walks through our doors. The hospital’s leaders, staff and providers have been working tirelessly to meet the standards set by regulatory agencies. We understand that any investigation may raise concerns, but these kinds of reviews are meant to examine a specific occurrence and do not reflect improvements made over several months or the quality of care we provide today.

Wilson Medical Center has taken swift and decisive action to address the issues identified during the recent investigation and made new improvements in its emergency department and behavioral health services.
