PECULIAR, Mo. (KCTV) – Area pitmasters have traveled to the Sunshine State as they prepare to serve Kansas City barbecue to those hit hardest by Hurricane Helene.
Operation BBQ Relief, the nonprofit founded by big-hearted competition pitmasters, announced on Thursday, Sept. 26, that it will return to Florida to provide hot barbecue meals, comfort and a sense of normalcy to those affected by Hurricane Helene.
This is the fifth time the nonprofit has deployed to Florida in the last decade as more than 2 million meals have been provided to those recovering from major storms. The current team has pre-staged in Birmingham, Alabama, and will move into Tallahassee on Friday morning…
