Upcoming blood drive to benefit St. Charles Parish girl with incurable cancer

KENNER, La. — Friends, family and random strangers are being encouraged to stop by a blood drive happening this Saturday in honor of a young girl with cancer in St. Charles Parish.

The event is happening in Kenner at the Seven Oaks Academy Early Childhood Center, located at 1901 36th St., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Brittany Stevens told WDSU that her daughter Amelia, 4, was diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, or DIPG, a rare and incurable form of cancer, earlier this year. Since then, she has been undergoing treatment, which Stevens said is showing signs of improvement…
