Jill Hadley of Lacombe has dedicated nearly the last 20 years of her life to children with special needs in the Louisiana foster care system.
After her four biological children grew up and moved out of the house, Hadley, a minister, felt a void in her life. She chose to offer her home and heart to Catholic Charities Archdiocese New Orleans as a foster parent.
“My kids grew up, and wow, it was over. I’ve been with kids all my life. I was in church, and I had a youth choir,” said Hadley. “I think I kind of got bored, and a friend of mine told me about Catholic Charities. I started fostering and I’ve been doing that ever since.”…
