A 30-year-old man who died in a shooting associated with a house party just outside Sumner has been identified by the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Javaun Cordova died from multiple gunshot wounds near the 7400 block of Riverside Drive East on Sept. 14. His manner of death was listed as a homicide, according to a news release from the medical examiner’s office.
Pierce County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to calls of a shooting just before 2 a.m. with help from Bonney Lake and Puyallup police departments, The News Tribune reported . Detectives investigated the scene and believe the shooting was connected to a fight that broke out at a house party thrown by a girl while her parents, the homeowners, were out of town. Besides Cordova, whom authorities found severely injured in the house’s driveway, two 16-year-old boys were shot. They were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries…
