Things to do between Sept. 26 and Oct. 2 in the mid-Willamette Valley

THURSDAY, SEPT. 26

Academy for Lifelong Learning, 9:30 a.m., Corvallis Community Center, 2601 NW Tyler Ave. Sarah Clark, assistant professor, Oregon State University biochemistry and biophysics, will present “The Architecture of a Lipid Transfer Protein Complex.” The cells of eukaryotic organisms have an outer membrane that encircles the entire cell, as well as internal membranes that surround organelles. Each membrane contains a specific, regulated lipid content, which is maintained in part through the action of lipid transfer proteins. Recent work reveals the architecture of a lipid transport protein complex, which illustrates how these proteins shuttle lipids between cellular compartments. ALL invites nonmembers to attend one or two classes at no charge to see if they are interested in becoming a member. Email [email protected] if you are interested in doing that for this class.
