Oakland A’s Fans Disrupt Final Game

Additional Coverage:

Oakland Athletics fans gave their team a rowdy sendoff in their final game at the Oakland Coliseum. Two delays occurred during the seventh inning due to a beer bottle and a smoke bomb being thrown onto the field. A fan also stormed the field in the ninth inning, leading to more objects being thrown.

The Athletics defeated the Texas Rangers 3-2, but the game was overshadowed by fan behavior. Two fans were caught trying to steal seats from the stadium on Tuesday night.

The A’s will now move to Sacramento for three years before relocating to Las Vegas in 2028. The Oakland Coliseum will continue to host the Oakland Roots soccer team.

Owner John Fisher expressed regret that the team was unable to remain in Oakland despite years of effort. The departure of the Athletics follows the relocation of the Warriors and Raiders, leaving Oakland without any major professional sports teams.
