West Haven looks to recoup revenue from drivers who’ve skipped out on car taxes

WEST HAVEN, CT (WFSB) – Along the shoreline, a Connecticut city is going after drivers it said have skipped out on car taxes.

According to the City of West Haven, people driving with out-of-state license plates, or with no current registration, increased dramatically over the past few years since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The city launched a program to identify and recoup lost tax revenue from out-of-state and unregistered motor vehicles…
