Timing: Tri-State will feel Helene’s impact with heavy rain, strong winds

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Hurricane Helene has the potential for ‘major to catastrophic flooding’ in the south, and the impact will be felt all the way into the Tri-State starting Friday.

A Wind Advisory has been issued ahead of the storm from 10 a.m. Friday through midnight Saturday. Gusts on Friday morning will be 20-30 mph and then may reach 45-55+ mph by afternoon.

This will mean the chances for power outages in our area will grow, especially Friday afternoon as some of the stronger gusts arrive.

The rain starting Thursday will pick up Friday, especially in the afternoon as the hurricane’s remnants draw closer. This is when some of the heaviest rain and strong winds arrive with an emphasis on noon to 5 p.m…
