State awards portion of nearly $3.7 million to Colville Tribes for early learning programs

Over 30 tribal-serving organizations, including 13 tribal nations, are receiving nearly $3.7 million from the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF). The funds will support early learning, child care, prenatal, and home visiting programs for tribal children.

A total of 34 tribes, tribal providers, and tribal-serving organizations have been awarded these funds, amounting to $3,698,869. This is the second round of Tribal Early Learning Funds (TELF) provided by DCYF in 2024; the first round, distributed in April, totaled $2.4 million.
