Free public tours of the Governor’s Mansion October 2, 9

On the next two Wednesdays, October 2 and 9, the Washington State’s Governor’s Mansion will once again offer free half-hour public tours with the theme “Washington apples.”

With its apple-centric theme, visitors have the chance to discover Washington apples, including a collection of vintage apple box labels on display from the Yakima Valley Museum. Tour slots are on a first-come, first-served basis, involve a tour of the mansion’s rooms, and include a chance to view memorabilia and exhibits.

The mansion gallery showcases an oil painting titled “Wenatchee Apples,” by E. L. Pierce Milholland, and the library features a book titled Willow Whoops, by Native American author Alexis Younglove Erickson.  …
