Ohio R&B Music Festival Coming to Natalie’s Grandview

It is magical how much Qamil Wright is able to balance. On top of being a newly engaged mother of three, the South Side Columbus native owns and operates Soul Dope Entertainment, a production company focused on supporting and promoting independent artists through event programming and media platforms. And for her next trick, Wright is launching her inaugural Ohio R&B Music Festival on October 5-6 at Natalie’s Grandview (945 King Ave).

As a rhythm and blues singer herself and self-proclaimed “R&B enthusiast,” Wright hopes to honor the contributions of Ohio’s R&B superstars, such as John Legend, Bootsy Collins, and the Isley Brothers, while also celebrating the state’s emerging artists.

“You come from the same soil as these people,” she stated. “The talent didn’t stop with them. We got it. We’re still here.”…
