Hoopeston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 4-0 to the Oakwood/Catlin Comets. While losing is never fun, the Cornjerkers can’t take it too hard given the team’s big disadvantage in MaxPreps’ Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 451st, while the Comets are ranked 134th).
Hoopeston’s defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Oakwood/Catlin, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.
