The Lodi Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an infant found in a local neighborhood on Thursday morning. According to ABC10, first responders pronounced the child dead upon arriving at the scene near Tokay Street and Sacramento Street at approximately 11:40 a.m.
Adding to the details, a woman informed CBS Sacramento that she discovered the body of the infant behind a mechanic shop building in the same area. While this development potentially offers a place to start, the investigation is in its nascent stages with much left to uncover, and found the infant dead, police have not yet made any arrests related to the case.
The community has been urged to come forward with any pertinent information.
