100+ Evergy workers set to head east to restore power to millions after Helene

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – More than 100 Evergy workers are set to roll east on the heels of Hurricane Helene as millions in Kentucky and Indiana remain without power.

Evergy announced on Friday, Sept. 27, that crews bound for Ashland, Kentucky, are set to depart Saturday morning to help restore power to more than 4 million in the wake of Hurricane Helene.

The electric utility noted that about 120 employees, including line crews and support personnel, will spend up to two weeks in the hills of Kentucky to rebuild the power grid and restore electricity…
