MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WV News) — Government officials and activists from Kenya visited Morgantown Friday for a meeting with Yunigen, a California-based company that’s been developing a pediatric sickle cell anemia medication at the WVU Innovation Corporation.
The drug, called Scedamin, is a new formulation of the sickle cell anemia treatment called hydroxyurea, and is a version created primarily to be an affordable pediatric medication that can save many lives in Africa, according to Yunigen Vice President and CEO Dr. Charles Otieno…
