Philly man guilty of 1st-degree murder for 20-year-old found burned near Kelly Drive in 2022

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Philadelphia man was found guilty of first-degree murder by a jury Friday for killing his lover then setting his body on fire in Fairmount Park two years ago .

Kylen Pratt, 23, is now convicted of killing Naasire Johnson in February 2022. His charred remains were found along Kelly Drive near Brewery Hill. Authorities say he had been shot.

Throughout the week, prosecutors called detectives, crime scene officers and the victim’s grandmother to prove their case, while the defense tried to poke holes in their case.

Pratt was sentenced to automatic life in prison, plus additional years for a weapons charge, abuse of corpse, and tampering with evidence…
