Arizona drops straight-setter to TCU in uncompetitive contest

Carlie Cisneros and Kiari Robey had strong outings against the No. 22 TCU Horned Frogs, but that was about the sum of the positives that came out of the 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-16) loss for Arizona volleyball on Friday evening in Fort Worth, Tex. The Wildcats struggled across the board, once again giving up far too many free points on errors.

“What I told them was that we did not assert our will at all,” Arizona head coach Rita Stubbs said. “We kind of looked like we were caught off guard.”

Arizona definitely looked off guard. TCU came out scoring off a lot of tips and roll shots in the first set. The offspeed stuff was effective. When the Horned Frogs started swinging away as the match progressed, the Wildcats didn’t adapt to that, either…
