SpaceX Mission to Rescue Stranded Astronauts

SpaceX is set to launch its Dragon spacecraft on Saturday with the mission of retrieving two American astronauts who have been stranded on the International Space Station (ISS) for months.

The launch, scheduled for 1:17 PM ET from Florida, could be delayed due to Hurricane Helene. The Dragon, carrying NASA’s Crew-9, will dock with the ISS on Sunday.

Astronauts Nick Hague and Alexandr Gorbunov will be on board the Dragon.

Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, who have been on the ISS since June due to problems with their Boeing Starliner spacecraft, will return to Earth with Crew-9 in February.

The Boeing Starliner capsule successfully returned to Earth empty earlier this month.
