Suspect Arrested in Connection with Northwest Bank Robbery in Washington D.C.

Cuffs have been slapped on the wrists of one Carlos Carolina, a 36-year-old man from Southwest, in connection with a bank robbery that sent ripples through Northwest earlier this month. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has confirmed that after a thorough investigation, their detectives have brought the case to a close with an arrest.

The incident unfolded inside the lobby of a bank located on the 2600 block of Connecticut Avenue, Northwest, at the tail-end of a workday, around 4:40 p.m., September 13, 2024. Carolina allegedly handed over a note to a bank teller—a note with a message that could chill the spine of any law-abiding citizen. The note demanded money. And the teller, faced with the kind a situation most only see in a Hollywood flicks, complied. The suspect subsequently fled from the scene, triggering the manhunt that concluded with yesterday’s arrest.

According to the MPD, the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force played a significant role in tracking down Carolina. Their efforts came to fruition on Friday, September 27, 2024, when Carolina was taken into custody without incident. Official sources reported that the arrest was made pursuant to a DC Superior Court Arrest Warrant.
