Two Southeast D.C. Teens Arrested, Charged with Armed Robbery

Law enforcement in the nation’s capital has arrested two teenagers in connection with a series of armed robberies. The Metropolitan Police Department announced that on Friday, a 16-year-old male and a 15-year-old male, both from Southeast D.C., were taken into custody. They face charges that include three counts of armed robbery involving a firearm, as detailed in a recent MPD statement.

The detained juveniles are suspected of carrying out multiple robberies within a few weeks. One incident on August 4, in the 4200 block of Fort Dupont Terrace, Southeast, involved them approaching victims, with one suspect openly brandishing a handgun before fleeing with stolen items. Their alleged crime pattern continued on September 16, with two separate incidents reported just minutes apart, both involving firearms and assaults on victims for theft—in the 5000 block of Kimi Gray Court and the 5500 block of Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue.

According to the MPD’s report, the arrest promptly followed an investigation into the robberies. Yet the cases continue to remain open for further review, and authorities are actively seeking additional information from the public.
