BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – The Beaufort-Jasper Water & Sewer Authority is asking its customers to suspend all non-essential water use through the weekend.
The request came Friday in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene after the storm caused widespread power outage problems at system facilities.
“Our damage assessment is still underway, but this is the worst storm damage we’ve experienced since Hurricane Mathew in 2016,” General Manager Verna Arnette said. “We’re in contact with our power-supply partners and using generators where possible.”…
