Hoosiers overcome miscues in 42-28 win over Maryland

Through the first four games the Indiana football team had yet turn the ball over one time. That all changed in their conference home opener against Maryland as the Hoosiers had two interceptions and two fumbles lost against the Terrapins. Despite losing the turnover battle four to zero, IU found a way to get another impressive victory to go to 5-0 for the first time since 1967.

In the first four games quarterback Kurtis Rourke had played nearly flawless football, but he had a rough start to the game against the Terps with two picks before the first quarter was half over. Head coach Curt Cignetti said after the game that Rourke responded to that adversity like an experienced player should.

“He responded like I kind of felt like he would,” Cignetti said about Rourke. “I didn’t think he’d be flustered by the two interceptions, and he wasn’t.”…
