CRAWFORD | No. 15 Louisville drops ball, and opportunity in loss at No. 16 Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WDRB) – It looked like a good omen. Notre Dame fumbled the opening kickoff and Louisville, three plays later, got a 24-yard touchdown pass from seventh-year quarterback to first-year running back Isaac Brown and, before the green-clad crowd in Notre Dame Stadium had settled into its seats, the Cardinals led 7-0.

It was an omen, all right. Amid intermittent rain, both teams would have trouble holding onto the ball – and turnovers would loom large.

No. 15 Louisville came into the game one of only two teams in the nation without a turnover. It didn’t leave that way. The Cardinals spotted No 16 Notre Dame 10 points off turnovers and left points on the field in several other ways to fall 31-24 to the Fighting Irish…
