Early Goal from Caio Brandao Sends Queens Past Central Arkansas in ASUN Showdown on Saturday Night

CHARLOTTE. N.C. – An early ninth minute goal from veteran Caio Brandao proved the difference as the Queens University of Charlotte men’s soccer team picked up a statement 1-0 victory over Central Arkansas on Saturday night. The clean sheet was the Royals second of the season and the 11th in Division 1.

Queens jumped out on the visiting Bears with an early ninth-minute goal off the boot of Caio Brandao. The graduate student beat the Bears backline down the right side of the field dribbling it to the endline. Before running out of bounds, Brandao ripped the shot to the bottom left corner of the net and a deflection off the goalkeeper’s leg finished the opportunity in the top left corner. After being given an early lead, the Royals backline went to work and held the Central Arkansas offense scoreless to improve to 1-0-1 in ASUN play this season…
