Police warn of unlicensed contractors as Clearwater recovers from Hurricane Helene

CLEARWATER, Fla. — As many recover from the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, police in Clearwater are telling people to be wary of any potential contractors they hire.

According to Clearwater Police Department, there’s been an uptick in salespeople trying to get access to the beaches. It led police to warn residents about unlicensed contractors often targeting people after a storm.

Parts of Clearwater Beach, Island Estates and Sand Key could still be grappling with power outages in addition to very low water pressure…
