Tennessee National Guard continuing rescue efforts in East Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Tennessee National Guard (TNG) is continuing its rescue efforts in East Tennessee following catastrophic flooding caused by Hurricane Helene.

Guardsmen are working with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) to perform ground and aerial missions 24 hours a day.

Three Guardsmen helicopters performed over 60 rescue missions on Friday, saving people trapped by floodwater. Nearly 15 people were rescued on Saturday, according to the Tennessee Military Department (TMD)…
