BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – When Kelby Ouchley walks through his wooded yard in northeastern Louisiana, he sees a lot more than trees and wild flowers. He sees the connection between the plants, their seeds, the chirping birds, and the animals that live near the Bayou D’Arbonne swamp.

“This is a seed pod off of a big leaf magnolia. Red-eyed Verios tend to swarm these trees,” said Ouchley.
