Saturday was the first night football game of the 2024 season for the University of Cincinnati Bearcats . It also was their first road loss this season as they came up three points short in a Big 12 game in Lubbock to Texas Tech, 44-41.
The Bearcats had a final possession with 1:52 left where a touchdown would win or field goal would tie. After a curious set of circumstances, they lined up for a 51-yard field goal that went wide right as time expired.

“He calls the penalty, they end up taking it up, yet we still get penalized 10 seconds,” UC coach Scott Satterfield said. “We got screwed on that one, any which way you look at it.
