Education notebook: More emergency teaching certificates, College Board awards and tribal support programs

Emergency certification count: Without discussion or debate, the Oklahoma State Board of Education approved 740 emergency certificate requests at Thursday’s meeting.

To date, the board has approved 3,783 emergency certificate requests this school year, with seven districts and a charter school already requesting more than 100 such credentials each: Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Putnam City, Midwest City-Del City, Lawton, Broken Arrow, Moore and Epic Charter Schools.
