Florida Power and Light working to get lights back on after Hurricane Helene

PENSACOLA, Fla. ( WKRG ) — While many of Florida Power and Light’s Pensacola team members stayed put to keep an eye on the storm locally, their partners and team members around the state are working in some of the hardest-hit areas.

After staging at the Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds last week, crews are now hard at work bringing relief to communities devastated by hurricane Helene.

So far, Florida Power and Light said they’ve restored power to more than 680,000 costumers impacted by the storm.

However, parts of heavily hit areas like Manatee and Sarasota counties’ barrier islands remain in the dark…
