APD investigating north Austin homicide

AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person is dead in a north Austin homicide that happened Monday night, Austin Police Officer Leah Ratliff said during a media briefing.

Around 8:20 p.m., multiple 911 calls were received in reference to a shoot/stab hotshot call in the 9100 block of Northgate Boulevard. Callers said they heard shots in the area, and a few callers also said someone was shot, Ratliff said.

Officers arrived on the scene at approximately 8:23 p.m. and found a victim with “obvious signs of trauma,” Ratliff said. APD officers, EMS and the Austin Fire Department attempted life-saving measures. However, the victim was pronounced dead at 9:01 p.m., according to police…
