Spirit Side: Annual pumpkin patch opens Oct. 5 in Lake Helen

ALL SMILES — Volusia County Women Who Care (VCWWC) members gathered for a

heartfelt evening with members of the Visitation House board and residents of the house,

as they presented Visitation House Inc. of DeLand with more than $30,700 in member-directed donations. The event featured a check presentation, a tour of the home, and a special baby and mommy shower. The donation will be used to establish a new residence for

mothers with older children. Meeting quarterly, the last meeting of the year is 5:30-7 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Halifax River Yacht Club, 331 S. Beach St., Daytona Beach. Behind

the check, from left, are Visitation House board members Rae Brammer-Wilson and Amy

Wooley, Jackie Mosness, Vacation House treasurer, and board member Maribeth Embras.

The pumpkins are coming!!!

Lake Helen Methodist Church will open their annual Pumpkin Patch Saturday, Oct. 5, and close it Thursday, Oct. 31. The hours are 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturdays, 11:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Sundays, and 3-7 p.m. Mondays-Fridays.
