This letter is to Robin Mimna. After reading your Sept. 18-24 article on Henry Flagler’s empire, I just had to reach out and offer you praise. I thoroughly enjoyed it, because it was about someone deemed such a prominent figure of the local area, but particularly because of the element of race in regard to contributions and exploitations.
In a time where people are choosing political sides and agendas, as a person of color and of Caribbean descent, I often find myself searching for people whose stories rarely get mentioned or are often not given due credit for their contribution to our society, only to remain in the shadow of others who are not of a particular race or ethnic makeup…
