Pittsburgh airport’s Presley’s Place aids flyers with special needs, plans expansion

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Pittsburgh International Airport has a special facility inside the terminal to help alleviate anxiety of people with special needs and to become acclimated to flying.

Presley’s Place opened five years ago after an employee suggested the idea for the room based on his son’s experience.

“Presley’s Place is not just for people, children with special needs; it’s for everybody out there that has special needs – our veterans who may have PTSD that need to get away from the crowd and just need a quiet place to go,” Jason Rudge, Presley’s father, said. “So, this is just not for special needs children or adults, this is for everybody that’s first-time flyers and our special needs community.”…
