NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Tuesday marked the first day of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Held annually in October, communities nationwide join forces to raise awareness about the far-reaching impact of domestic violence.
“My name could have been on that list last year,” said Angel Hubbard, a survivor and New Haven Alder for Ward 3. “The victims that did lose their lives to domestic violence, they don’t have a voice.”
