Senate committee advances bill to repurpose White Haven Center

White Haven, Luzerne Co. — Progress could be made to repurpose the White Haven Center after a bill was advanced by the Senate State Government Committee by a 10-1 vote.

The bill, introduced by Senator Dave Argall (R-29), requires a detailed plan from the Pennsylvania Department of General Services on how it will repurpose the White Haven Center, which was closed in 2023 by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.
