Former Reading resident admits to trafficking heroin, cocaine into Connecticut, DOJ says

READING, Pa. – A former Reading resident pleaded guilty to being involved in a drug trafficking operation.

Israel Mendoza, also known as “D-Nice” and “Israel Mandosa,” 44, formerly of Reading, pleaded guilty Tuesday before U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley in Bridgeport to conspiracy to distribute, and to possess with intent to distribute, heroin and cocaine, according to a news release from the Department of Justice.

According to court documents and statements made in court, in 2018, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service’s Narcotics and Bulk Cash Trafficking Task Force began investigating a Hartford area narcotics trafficking operation that involved the use of the U.S. Mail to ship parcels of drugs and drug proceeds…
