LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)– Lansing and Jackson city officials are working to reduce gun violence and new data shows both cities have made progress.
Both cities saw recent highs in gun violence in 2021, but the number of people who have died from gun violence has since been cut in half.
In Jackson, the city has made progress in reducing the number of people getting shot by 68 percent and has also seen the overall number of shooting incidents fall by 53 percent. Jackson police say they won’t stop until they get the number of homicides down to zero—which hasn’t happened since 2001…
